Understanding U-Values

U-values can often be confusing within the industrial door industry, particularly as different manufacturers may quote figures using different testing methods or only refer to individual curtain sections rather than the complete installed door system.

In simple terms, a lower U-value indicates better thermal insulation and reduced heat transfer through the door.

This infographic has been designed to help explain the differences more clearly, providing a straightforward comparison of common door types and helping illustrate how insulation performance can vary between systems.
